Australians have used the Tax Office's online tax return pack, e-tax,
after just seven weeks. This figure already exceeds last year's total
number of users. There were 117,000 e-tax users in the year 2000,
dealing with the tax returns of the 1999-2000 financial year. "Users
tell us they are impressed with e-tax's security features, its ability
to do automatic calculations and to estimate the amount of any refund
they are due," said Tax Commissioner Michael Carmody. |
