The latest figures released on 14 September by the ATO confirm 167,957
taxpayers have used the ATO E-Tax website to lodge their return.
Generally accountants do not have a tax processing website so one can
only assume the ATO figures will continue to grow rapidly. You may also
note that E-Tax lodgers do not have to lodge by the 31st October. More
pressure on agents to distinguish their services.
However, the ATO is sending an Assistant Commissioner from Canberra
to interview me next month on my view of the ATO tax agent relationship
and how it can be improved. I will be making some points and will keep
you informed. |
